We currently have an opportunity for a Marketing Manager. The selected employee, under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer, will oversee the commercial lines marketing process of designated office(s) and serve as a resource to Producers/Account Executives/Account Managers in in matters related to market availability, appetite and marketing personnel utilization, and general market relations through the development and use of HUB’s 3C, Customer Centric Carrier strategy. Contributes to the Company’s production, profit and revenue goals by effectively managing within the practices, policies and procedures of the Company.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees marketing process for new and renewal remarketing of accounts developing more than $5,000 and revenue.

  • When needed, involved directly with the marketing of large or key commercial accounts utilizing established procedures and timelines.

  • Collaborate with producers, marketing and support team members on new and renewal business strategies and assign marketing team responsibilities

  • Analyzes new business and renewal control logs to communicate trends and effects to Chief Marketing Officer which may impact agency contingencies and commissions.

  • A dedicated focus on developing successful carrier relationships within the region including coordination and participation in meetings and events on local basis. At request of Chief Marketing Officer, will also participate in annual planning meeting with major carriers with the region.

  • Monitor HUB 3C carrier relationships and program performance including:

  • Performance of each carrier

  • Making sure that risks are appropriately aligned with carrier within the marketing department and where marketed by account teams.

  • Monitor wholesale utilization to ensure usage of preferred relationships whenever possible

  • Monitor and report assignment of accounts for marketing purposes as well as marketing capacity by marketer(s).

  • Identification of Product opportunities offered by carriers and present to production staff for business development and/or program creation.

  • Assists Chief Marketing Officer and executive management to assure that Top 200 and Target 25 opportunities are acted upon.

  • Monitor books of business that are not placed through the marketing team and where appropriate step in to manage or address issues and concerns as they arise.

  • Attends Sales and Marketing Department Meetings

  • Responds promptly to requests for marketing assistance from other Hub Offices.

  • Accountable for deciding when it is appropriate to escalate a risk or not whether within an insurance company or to Chief Marketing Officer and/or regional executive management team for their involvement.

  • Effectively monitor and manage the turnaround time and the quality of the submissions / Quotes that go through the department.

  • Working within “Critical Path” process by participating in and reporting on the status of accounts in process

  • Keeps current with industry trends, insurance company changes, coverage developments, carrier appetite information and dissemination to Commercial Lines personnel as necessary

  • Participate and collaborate with Commercial Lines management in establishing Commercial Lines and/or Marketing departmental goals and strategy

  • Management of centralized marketing personnel, processes, and systems utilization of agency management system in accordance with HUB policies and procedures.

  • Supervises and directs department personnel including hiring, training, coaching, disciplinary actions as necessary including completion of annual performance reviews

  • Assists Producers in oral presentations as needed

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Seven years’ experience in marketing or underwriting with a national or regional broker or carrier.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage middle market property and casualty accounts; effectively market to carriers and customers; develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers and prospects.

  • Knowledge of all forms of property and casualty coverage rating.

  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.

  • Excellent negotiation, organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker (or within 6 months of hire)

  • LI-AR

Required Experience: 7-10 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: Negligible

Required Education: High school or equivalent
