The Opportunity

We are seeking an Executive Liability Marketer for our Commercial Division, who is an independent self-starter and can collaborate with the production team to strategize, develop and market new and renewal business for our clients. The successful candidate must be an ambitious and curious learner, who passionately seeks to understand the insurance industry with a drive to grow with HUB long-term. You must excel in building strong relationships with insurance carriers and clients.

We value developing our people! In this role, you will receive hands-on training and support in completing your Level 1 & 2 insurance license. Additionally, you will be assigned an Executive Liability mentor that will work closely with you to develop your technical knowledge and skills. Together we will create a long-term career path for you at HUB.

Our Bentall One Vancouver office is located in the center of Downtown Vancouver. This location is easily accessible by skytrain and near many shops, restaurants, and amenities.

The Responsibilities

  • Executive Liability includes Directors’ & Officers’ Liability, Employment Practices Liability and Fiduciary (Pension Trust) Liability

  • Co-ordinate, plan and develop marketing initiatives for our clients

  • Negotiate terms for new business, renewals, and mid-term changes with insurance carriers

  • Gather and organize the information renewal and new business submissions

  • Participate in client meetings and calls to address provided by Account Managers, Producers, internet and other sources to facilitate the

  • market developments, insurer feedback and claims trends

  • Track, maintain and follow-up on Insurer submission responses, review and prepare quotations to ensure accuracy, outlining coverage restrictions

  • Prepare insurance summaries, client proposals and related documentation for the production team

  • Analyze and Review policy wordings to ensure the proper coverages are in place

  • Daily review of activities and follow-up with insurers on outstanding items (endorsements, policy wordings, quotes, etc.)

  • Ensure adequate coverage, and negotiate exclusive amendatory endorsements or additional requirements with underwriters as needed

  • Provide alternate carrier options and mitigate any gaps in coverage for clients

  • Attend industry events, educational seminars, and opportunities to further develop your network

The Requirements

  • Post-Secondary education: a finance or law degree is an asset

  • Willingness to obtain Level 1 & 2 General Insurance License within 6 months of employment

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience analyzing and interpreting financial data

  • Highly detail oriented - high level of accuracy

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based environment

  • Strong time management skills; able to prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with changing priorities

Asset Experience that Will Make You Stand Out

  • Finance or Law degree

  • Strong business and legal acumen

  • Level 1 or 2 General Insurance License

  • Experience working with financial statements

  • Those who are working towards or possess CAIB, CIP, FCIP or CRM designations
