Reporting directly to the President, this role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in investment management, a talent for conducting comprehensive investment research, and outstanding communication skills. As Director, Research, you will spearhead our manager research initiatives, leveraging a thorough research philosophy and a balanced approach that encompasses both qualitative and quantitative analysis. You will work in tandem with a Research Analyst, focusing on aiding clients to evaluate their investment portfolios, identify top-tier investment managers, and ensure effective portfolio management.

What You’ll Do

  • Uphold a cohesive and well-defined research philosophy across the HUB Proteus team.

  • Develop and implement research processes and tools, including ESG research.

  • Train and mentor the Research and Investment Analyst teams in research methodologies.

  • Set the firm’s research agenda and priorities.

  • Manage the research team, conduct performance reviews, and align resources with research demands.

  • Conduct detailed interviews with diverse investment managers, gathering insights for thorough evaluation.

  • Analyze and document extensive qualitative and quantitative data on investment managers, contributing to client project materials.

  • Proactively research and monitor investment managers, responding to ad-hoc inquiries and enhancing manager evaluation processes.

What Y ou’ll Need for Success

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred.

  • Completion of CFA program or equivalent.

  • Substantial investment management experience, with a focus on manager research.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Leadership experience with an understanding of operational aspects.

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical capabilities.

  • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.

  • Collaborative approach with proficiency in working independently.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
