Benefit Technology Specialist- Hybrid Tampa, FL


This position is responsible for supporting HUB Florida’s clients, HUB Florida team members, and the Florida Technology Practice Leader by providing subject matter expertise in Benefit & HR Technology. The Technology Specialist support comes in many forms including, but not limited to, client HCM & Benefits Administration escalations, EDI expertise, needs analysis, vendor demonstrations, platform implementation guidance, and ongoing client support.


  • Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of Benefits/HR and payroll technology solutions for HUB prospects and clients.

  • Maintain solid understanding and knowledge of Benefit/HR Technology vendors, their solutions (with a focus on broker accessibility, census and eligibility reporting), and industry trends.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all internal systems (Employee Navigator) to respond to general and specialized client requests.

  • Be a resource to provide technical expertise regarding our benefit technology solutions on internal and external calls, emails, meetings, etc.

  • Provide resolution of client issues by responding to questions and concerns about the use of ben admin tech products; ability to leverage research to find resolution and defer/escalate/coordinate with vendors as needed.

  • Assist the Technology Practice Leader by:

  • Assisting with technology needs analysis, vendor search and selection process

  • Preparation of educational material, presentations and marketplace insights for staff and clients

  • Vendor onboarding with client

  • Participate in vendor implementations as needed to provide client guidance to ensure system setup is in accordance with client requirements.

  • Assist clients with post implementation issue resolution by acting as liaison with vendor to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

  • Provide full EDI File oversight support (new builds, escalations, project management oversight, etc) and maintain a master client list of live files by client and carrier.

  • Provide open communication to HUB International customers in a pleasant, professional manner with a can-do attitude.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus.

  • 3-5 years employee benefit insurance experience or similar experience working for a benefit/HR technology firm.

  • 3-5 years of experience in customer support/service.

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel; ability to listen, clarify and respond well to questions.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

  • Must possess a passion for teamwork, client service and reaching business results through problem solving.

  • Position requires approximately 5-10% travel but may be heavier at times.
