Hub International Account Manager, Employee Benefits in Sandy, Utah

The Opportunity

HUB’s Client Service professionals provide critical support to our customers through account management, claims management, day-to-day client oversight, and underwriting services that make us a leading sales and service organization in the insurance industry. Through a robust network of resources, you will be amongst some of the industry’s top talent to help guide and support our customer’s needs and provide them with innovative solutions.

The Account Manager will collaborate with Producers and Account Executives to maintain synergy between HUB International, carriers, and clients. Account Managers are a critical part of the HUB team, helping to ensure that our clients receive the service and information they need to manage their employee benefit packages. You will be required to provide the highest quality of professional service to every customer and assist the Account Executive with servicing all areas of the account. This includes (but is not limited to) interacting with clients and carriers, answering questions, providing professional information, marketing and enhancing existing policies.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, attending, and taking notes at meetings with clients and carriers

  • Assisting insured members with insurance related questions

  • Researching and responding to client questions and requests

  • Assisting with compliance-related research

  • Compiling renewal analysis and creating annual benefit guide documents

  • Creating Request for Proposal drafts and compiling Request for Proposal analyses

  • Assist with paperwork for new and renewing business

  • Onboarding new business

  • Reviewing annual Contracts, Certificates of Insurance, and Summary Plan Documents

  • Coordinating projects and internal resources

  • Keeping all team members abreast of client projects and requests

  • Staying current with legislative and market changes that may impact each client

  • Maintaining license in good standing in required state(s)

  • Other tasks as discussed with manager


  • Completion of Associate’s Degree or higher

  • 2+ years related insurance industry experience preferred

  • Experience supporting large, self-insured groups preferred

  • Utah Resident Life and Accident/Health license is required within 90 days of employment

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities, along with out-of-the-box thinking abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software products

  • Ability to create and analyze formula-driven worksheets in Microsoft Excel

  • Team-oriented person with the ability to prioritize, monitor, and control projects and deadlines

  • Ability to self-start and work without supervision

  • Some travel will be requested in late 2021 and beyond. All travel will be discussed with manager in advance
