THE OPPORTUNITY:

HUB’s Customer Service professionals provide critical support to our customers through account management, claims management, day-to-day client oversight, and underwriting services that make us a leading sales and service organization in the insurance industry. Through a robust network of resources, you will be amongst some of the industry’s top talent to help guide and support our customer’s needs and provide them with innovative solutions.

Primary focus is on the following: ongoing training (both within in a group and on an individual basis), cross training among roles, mentorship, BOB assignments, and career mapping. Responsible for ongoing/frequent individual feedback, time, attendance, and expense management. Ensure adoption and maintenance of standard workflows, achievement of service, and operational efficiency goals.

The Manager will not maintain a book of business.

The Manager is expected to be in the office at least two times per week in San Diego.

The Manager will be one of two reporting to the Practice Leader. Service teams of AM, AR, BA and Call Center will roll up to these 2 Manager positions.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Participates in recruiting process for new team members, including interviewing, onboarding, and maintaining a candidate pipeline.

  • Provides training on topics to include: benefits compliance, team responsibilities, best practices, communications, value added services, general service techniques, strategy and relationship building. Training will align with service team assigned.

  • Develops individual career path programs for each member of the team.

  • Coordinate daily huddles and rapid problem solving in a way that both engages staff while delivering the expected process performance. Conduct team meetings and 1:1’s.

  • Solicits feedback from Producers and Account Executives on team needs. Include assigning new client or transferring existing client assignments.

  • Identifies areas of process improvements and provides recommendations on strategy based on findings.

  • Compliance Subject Matter Expert.

  • Support client retention initiatives.

  • Provide guidance on account management best practices by ensuring the “right level” of service is delivered depending on revenue, account size, complexity, and needs

  • Identify and address waste and problems in the workflows, that are major contributors to performance issues in delivering against the process targets (Plan-Do-Check-Act)

Book of Business responsibilities:

  • Although none will be assigned, providing support by knowing all the processes, steps, and tasks performed by their team members so they can coach staff, or step in on clients, as needed.

  • May provide backfill customer service support as team members are out, or to support during surge periods.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

You are perfect for this opportunity if you . . .

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • At least 5 years of related experience working as an Account Manager in the employee benefits arena (equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable).

  • Management experience required.

  • Must hold a valid CA Life Agent license.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a big plus.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and Power Point; Knowledge of Project Management software and database software is preferred. Benefit Point and Smart Sheets knowledge a plus.
