Your job responsibilities as a Medicare Solutions Specialist will be to:

  • Use technology to educate clients to find the best Medicare supplemental plans, carriers, and price to meet their health needs.

  • Provide clients with Prescription Drug plan analysis and enrollment during open enrollment.

  • Responsible for sales production of specific products within Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage and other “non-medical” options such as life insurance, dental, cancer and other programs intended for this population.

  • Review plan documents ensuring information is complete and free of errors and provide direction to carriers in the event additional information is required.

  • Provide training and guidance to other associates ensuring they understand the Medicare supplemental services we offer.

  • Create and maintain internal client files and records as needed, ensuring compliance with company policies, CMS, federal and state regulations.

  • Keep up to date on industry trends and best practices and seek opportunities to implement them into existing policies and procedures.

  • Must be flexible to meet with prospects and clients beyond core business hours.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred

  • Minimum five years of experience in benefit brokerage field, benefit/insurance customer service and/or account administration, or related field required.

  • An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of minimum qualifications.

  • Ability to acquire and maintain state life, accident and health insurance license required.

  • Ability to maintain annual AHIP Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug certification

  • Professional designation through CEBS, RHU, REBC, HIAA, or FMLI preferred.

  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in area(s) of expertise.

  • Knowledge of insurance and benefits industry.

  • Knowledge of underwriting, marketing, and sales principles.

  • Skill in identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Customer service orientation.

  • Ability to develop and build strong professional relationships.

  • Strong research and project management skills.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple work assignments.

  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with diverse groups including coworkers, employees, applicants, and various business contacts at various levels ranging from entry level employees to senior executives.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.

  • Must be a self-starter who can initiate projects and move them forward.

  • Skill and proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong attention to detail.
