About the Position:

Provide high level systems and application support to the business. Participate in Company Information Systems projects across diverse business lines within the company. Work with IT and business management across diverse businesses to assess systems information needs and correspond with vendors to ensure resolution of key issues. Play an active role in the maintenance of key business systems primarily Applied Systems Epic and Benefit Point.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

This role interacts with the IT and Management team, and will be responsible for the following:

Support Functions

  1. Serve as second/third level support for core Broker Applications.

  2. Review error logs; research and resolve problems.

  3. Work with vendors to research and resolve problems.

  4. Responsible for maintenance of assigned systems including scheduled utilities.

  5. Monitor application performance and develop recommendations for corrections and improvements

  6. May provide work direction for Shared Customer Support team.

  7. As required, coordinate activities with technical support staff and operations management.

Project Functions as required

  1. Perform system, integration, and functional verification tests for software; coordinate user acceptance testing; review test results with user and obtain user approval.

  2. Develop and maintain computer system documentation including specifications through change controls, procedures, and other relevant information in accordance with defined standards.

  3. Implement software configuration and coding changes and coordinate the production move.

  4. Recommend solutions or alternatives to meet end-user needs or to help users perform their job more efficiently.

  5. Identify system impact of changes in the Company business, user needs, external business environment (i.e. Carrier Systems) and operating systems.


  • 1 or 2 years’ experience administering a core Broker Management Systems preferred (Epic, TAM, Sagitta or AMS360).

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in the Insurance industry preferred.

  • Experience working in a distributed network environment preferred.

  • Experience working with end users and providing production support preferred.

  • Experience developing test plans and data, testing and verification of results preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Evenings, weekends or non-regular hours will be required.
