Position Overview:

HUB International’s vision is to be the leading sales and service organization in the insurance industry. HUB continues to grow and is seeking a dynamic Leader to join our Personal Insurance team to lead the Ontario and Atlantic Region and to provide expert personal insurance portfolio management and service excellence to Personal Insurance clients including our high-net-worth client base. We are looking for a strong, sales-minded people leader to develop strategies for talent, growth, innovation and improving the customer experience. This is a dynamic leadership opportunity!

The SVP, Personal Insurance is responsible for a team of approximately 300 employees and a leadership team of 6 Personal Insurance Leaders. This position reports to the President of HUB Ontario/ Atlantic and is a member of the Executive Management Team.

  • Creates and executes a clear vision and plan to grow the Personal Insurance at HUB by working with Personal Insurance leaders and Executive Leadership Team to ensure that budget targets for new business sales, retention, and other income are achieved while maintaining appropriate expense controls.

  • Ensures the PI practice achieves identified Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that drive our strategy.

  • Provides overall leadership and direction to our Retail, Private Client Group as well as Group Sales verticals within our Personal Insurance Practice and looks for synergies across all segments.

  • Helps create and drive the development of sales strategies for Personal Insurance in conjunction with the Chief Sales Officer to:

  • Increase penetration of Group business by approximately 10% per year

  • Develop and execute an aggressive strategy to grow unendorsed portion of Group business to meet yearly growth targets

  • Improve current PI sales models and identify areas for enhancement to ensure maximum revenue growth with all segments (Group, Retail and Private Client) and increase overall sales effectiveness

  • Oversee the development of unique and compelling marketing material to drive the PI Value Proposition to drive lead volumes

  • Responsible for leading Talent Management within Personal Insurance including employee engagement, pipeline development, resource management, leadership development and succession planning and external Producer Pipeline candidate pool.

  • Meets with key Group clients and recommends strategy to increase penetration and improve customer service and retention.

  • Keeps current with relevant insurance carrier trends and product offerings.

  • Drives team production and client solutions by leveraging business analytics and data

  • Acts as strong HUB ambassador at events; some events may occur during evenings and occasionally on weekends.

  • Drive YOY increase to client retention targets


  • 7+ Years of managerial, strategy, and influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience.

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in people management with a focus on creating a strong team culture.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with proven results driving new business growth in the insurance brokerage environment.

  • Ability to manage through influence in a highly matrixed organizational structure. Understands how key business drivers are connected across the company.

  • Prior experience with High-Net-Worth clients.

  • In-depth knowledge of Personal Insurance products preferred.

  • Strong consultative and client-focused approach.

  • Strong business acumen.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

  • RIBO Licensed.

  • Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Experience with TAM or Epic broker management system an asset

  • Must have a valid Ontario Driver’s License for client visits and meetings.
