About The Role

As a portfolio company ourselves, we are familiar with the complex risks associated with the acquisition and integration processes. We’re looking for a dynamic AVP, Private Equity to provide P&C subject matter expertise, focus and direction, and support to key clients within our Private Equity and M&A Insurance Practice.
The ideal candidate is a creative thinker who is responsive, possesses strong time management skills, and does not shy away from a fast-paced and demanding environment. The position is location-agnostic but ties into our Toronto, ON office.
What You’ll Do
Act as a client advocate/steward for a client portfolio in P&C insurance programs originated by the Toronto Private Equity Team placed both in and outside of Ontario
P&C support involving alternative risk management including captive insurance
Provide P&C subject matter guidance surrounding P&C insurance expertise, focus, direction, feedback, and opportunities for the development of captive programs
Actively promote cross-selling and write the P&C portfolio business from private equity clients and prospects
Identify new business opportunities and build relationships with quality clients via due diligence engagements
Leverage the administrative support of the Complex Risks Unit team for client submissions, while being accountable to the private equity unit to help with due diligence engagements
Share new concepts and findings with the leadership team to ensure client requirements are understood and met
Maintain thorough knowledge of the P&C insurance marketplace, products, and services
What You’ll Need for Success
Valid RIBO license, or willingness to obtain in short order
Demonstrated expertise in Property & Casualty Insurance consulting or placement
Solid research skills with the ability to ask strategic questions to gather key insights
Confident, poised, and interactive; communicates effectively, demonstrate emotional intelligence, and understands how to tailor responses in a variety of dynamic situations
Commanding presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills with the gravitas to present to C-suite clients (i.e., CEOs, CFOs, Presidents, etc.)
Demonstrated success anticipating and leading strategic initiatives and managing unique needs as it pertains to client relationships
Results-oriented and passionate, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership
Detail-oriented with strong organization and prioritization skills
Ability to take initiative with the capability of pivoting and adapting to the changing internal and external environment
Strong team player who also possesses independence of thought and honesty when making key business decisions
Ability to work flexible hours at a private equity pace – demanding clients and tight deadlines
Experience with EPIC or similar insurance broker management systems is a plus
