This position can be located at any office within the HUB Mountain States region (Idaho, Montana, Wyoming)

The Renewal Specialist’s duties include carrier placement of renewal business, implementing agency renewal strategies, maintaining information on clients and companies which will support the agency renewal efforts.They are expected to meet quality and service standards adopted by the Agency.

  • Manages all aspects of carrier placement for renewal business including: evaluation carrier products to ensure best match for client; negotiating terms and coverage with carrier underwriters; ensuring all information submitted is complete and accurate and establishing coverage from carrier in the event the account is sold

  • Rates and quotes new risk within underwriting authority of the Agency

  • Ensures proposals are prepared according to HUB proposal standards

  • Partners with Sales Executives to notify them of appropriate timeframes of upcoming ex-dates and status of quotes

  • Prepares accounts for Account Managers to effectively service; making sure BMS is accurate and preparing certificates, binders, and other appropriate forms and documents

  • Determine what type of billing is appropriate and invoices new business premium accordingly

  • Client Marketing: Monitors ex-dates and marketing activities weekly, monitors marketing information on clients, assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans to meet Agency and Company goals, assists Sales Executives in re-marketing of lost accounts

  • Company Marketing: Maintains files for information, forms, brochures, and company appetite guides to assist in the placement of accounts and in the development of target markets and accounts

  • Ability to receive and interpret complex information, responding appropriately

  • Knowledge of rating procedures, coverages, underwriting procedures and industry operations to effectively market accounts

  • Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality

  • Ability to interact and communicate positively with co-workers

  • Any other duties as appropriate and assigned by management

  • MUST hold current Property and Casualty License in resident state; includes maintaining by meeting all continuation education and other requirements

  • Must be working towards CISR designation


  • 5+ years’ insurance experience

  • High school diploma or equivalency; some college preferred

  • CIC Designation or similar insurance designation

  • Advanced Leadership Skills
