The Marketing Specialist is a critical role in the acquisition of new and retention of existing business by providing the highest level of support to our Producers and meeting or exceeding the needs of our prospects and customers. This position directly impacts the organic growth and retention goals of the organization through successful marketing efforts. This will be accomplished through professional, collaborative interactions with our carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues.


  • Negotiate all lines of commercial insurance for the new business and/or renewal marketing process through state of the art knowledge of market underwriting appetite, understanding of line of business trends, insurance company changes, rating techniques and coverage development including specialized and/or complex lines of business.

  • Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, company visitations, and firm, but fair negotiations

  • Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments within Hub for the quoting of specialized lines of coverage

  • Assist producers with coverage analysis in the renewal process, and proposal presentations if needed

  • Analyze the line of business and insurance company production trends, and make recommendations to correct deficiencies

  • Demonstrate an understanding of our company utilization strategies by appropriate risk submissions

  • Execute a quality control process for policies and quotations delivered assuring coverage, condition, rating, and pricing accuracy

  • Accurately maintain new business and renewal information for CMO tracking

  • Supports, mentors, and develops marketing team members


  • 3-5 years of related insurance experience

  • Must be service-oriented, a strategic thinker and a relationship builder

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, coupled with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills – ability to effectively communicate to internal and external parties

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Proven organizational and time management skills

  • Knowledge of regional carriers an contacts (strongly preferred)
