The Colwood Insurance Services team is looking for our next Claims Associate . The team is located out of our Willowbrook (Langley) location which is our newest and second largest office centrally located near Willowbrook Shopping Centre. As a Claims Associate, you will be providing claims assistance to Colwood clients.

We are seeking an individual with strong attention to detail who thrives in a fast-paced environment. We are ideally looking for someone with a Claims background but are open to any candidate that brings a strong client-service background and a willingness to work hard! Bring your experience and make a positive impact on the team with your fresh ideas and unique perspective!

What you’ll be up to as our Claims Associate

  • You’ll be providing an exceptional claims experience to clients. This includes opening new claims, collecting, and processing information, issuing settlement cheques, and other claims related duties as required

  • You’ll be answering incoming phone calls and providing basic information regarding the Replacement Cost coverage, finance plans and claims procedures

  • Your clients will trust you to be the expert! You’ll engage clients in conversations to understand and meet their needs by providing them with advice and service regarding coverage and the claims process

  • You’ll review, analyze and assess for coverage all claims submissions

  • You’ll provide sound claims advice at every client interaction

  • You’re able to prioritize and manage your workload to meet service level requirements for service and productivity

  • You consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information, and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate

  • You’ll support the timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures

  • You’ll bring your entrepreneurial spirit and identify, suggest, and actively participate in process improvement opportunities

What you bring to the table…

  • Level 2 license or a Level 1 License with intent to obtain your Level 2 within a year. We still welcome you to apply if you are unlicensed as HUB has a tuition financing program and in-house training to support your learning

  • Insurance industry experience is an asset

  • Guidewire ClaimCenter experience is an asset

  • Call Center experience

  • Stay up to date on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

  • Participate fully as a member of the team, support a positive work environment that promotes service to the business, quality, innovation, and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly in Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong basic mathematical aptitude, problem solving ability

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Superior computer skills

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work

Department Account Management & Service
