Position Summary

For more than 25 years, Avant Brokerage has been developing insurance solutions for independent agents focused on the transportation business sector. The Account Executive position will work with new, existing agents responsible for retention, renewals, marketing, and servicing needs of Avant Brokerage agencies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an advanced level of professionalism, the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, and the flexibility to adapt to change in priorities easily.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist with designing and executing wholesale insurance marketing strategies.

  • Market commercial transportation policies to new and existing agents.

  • Reaches out to potential leads through various channels (internet, email, phone, and social media).

  • Train new agents on insurance products, procedures and services offered.

  • Negotiates price and terms with carriers, presenting the best wholesale brokerage solution.

  • Maintains and enhances Avant Brokerage’s relationships with existing agents by executing proactive, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives.

Position Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills required.

  • Demonstrates ability to build effective customer relationships.

  • Knowledge of commercial transportation insurance (preferred).

  • A commitment to personal growth and development.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Proven sales success preferred.

  • Ability to efficiently organize work and manage time to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skill set

Education and/or Experience

  • 2+ years of Business-to-Business sales experience.

  • Required Travel: Up to 10%.

  • Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Required Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Documented, proven sales success (preferred)

  • Current P&C Insurance license (preferred).

  • Outside sales experience (preferred).


$70,000 + Bonus

Expected Hours of Work

Full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $65,000-$70,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
