Employee Benefits Practice Leader of HUB Texas
The Employee Benefits (EB) Practice Leader position is the “face” of Employee Benefits in HUB Texas and is critical to the company's ongoing success and efficiency in sales, customer service and marketing. As the EB Practice Leader, you are responsible for the strategic oversight of product offerings, implementation, new business development, account retention, and the successful mentoring and development of our EB staff. Further, the role is responsible for maintaining and growing our carrier and vendor relationships. This role is highly visible with the Employee Benefits operation and has a “hard line” reporting structure to the President and CEO of Texas. In addition, there is a “dotted line” reporting structure to Central Regional EB President.

Communicate all National initiatives to the field operations in HUB Texas
Attend and serve as the HUB Texas representative at two annual EB Leadership Meetings
Work with other EB leaders in the HUB Central Region to determine appropriate strategy
Work with Texas Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and CEO to maximize EB sales and cross sell opportunities in the region
Work with individual Producers to increase revenue and retention
Work with EB teams to ensure “best practices” are in place in the region. The EB Practice Leader will have authority to implement strategic changes in consultation with the HUB Texas President and CEO.
Participate monthly in Texas Executive Management Team (EMT) meetings
Provide a vision and growth plan for how the company will remain profitable and how the HUB Texas EB team will expand its capabilities in group medical, ancillary lines and special programs
Manage insurance carrier access and support as needed, along with market relationship development to find new products and services for clients and prospects
Work with regional executive team to identify possible agency acquisitions
Support the development and management of department budget
Work with Texas Chief Sales Officer and CEO to recruit and hire new producers
Work with EB leaders to enhance Value Proposition, Stewardship process and Account Management services
Exercise expense control and maximize revenue and net operating income in compliance with corporate guidelines
Actively participates in Sales and Segment management on day-to-day basis including field office visits regarding staff development (mentoring), plan execution, training producers, and joint prospect and client sales calls
At least 10 years of progressive group life and health insurance experience; majority must be within an agency, brokerage or consulting firm
Demonstrated track record as a Managing Producer, Client Service/Account Executive or Team Leader in developing a consultative platform for sales and/or account management
Be a hands-on manager; enjoys mentoring and direct management of staff; also, desire to work alongside producers in the field helping to originate new business through your personal networks and close accounts in team based sales
Can institute effective employee development procedures which address training, processes and procedures, E&O avoidance, continuing education, recruiting, hiring and disciplinary actions
Understand ways to distinguish insurance brokerages through customer service, technology and special product offerings, association marketing, client communication strategies and alternative funding programs
Highly developed organization and time management skills
Must be willing to travel up to 5-20%
Excellent listening skills
Strong written and verbal communications
Strong degree of self motivation
Demonstrated ability to lead/motivate others
