General Description (Summary, Scope, Purpose)

The Enrollment Specialist is an administrative position that works under the daily direction and supervision of the Integration Specialist. This position is part of the Projects and Technology department and provides administrative support for the Project Analysis Teams as-well-as general office support functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform membership adds, deletions, and changes in multiple online benefits enrollment systems and by email submissions to carriers

  • Enters data into spreadsheets for purposes of enrolling a group, members, or recording and tracking work orders

  • Phone and email communications with carriers to verify membership processing

  • Communication with Client Care Advocates (CCAs) to solve enrollment issues or to confirm a work order is complete

  • Creation and manipulation of spreadsheets for purposes of calculating premiums, for example: for a carrier change

  • Completing applications for carrier changes and interacting with CCA to ensure accurate information is processed

  • Loads and maintains all membership activities in Benefit Point

  • Audits bills against enrollments to validate accuracy

  • Provides general administrative support of the Project Analysis teams

  • Answers main telephone line as needed to assist or redirect incoming phone calls

  • Answers the team phones and communicate effectively with clients, taking notes and messages as needed

  • Maintains organized filing systems

  • All other duties and special projects as assigned

The candidate must be able to operate both independently and in a team setting. She/he must be organized with heavy attention to detail. She/he must have a client service mentality with active listening skills and able to effectively communicate with our clients, team members, and management. The candidate must also be proficient with using Microsoft Office products especially Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Education Requirements

High school graduate with an Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree in a business related field.

Licenses and Credentials

Must have or be willing to obtain a North Carolina Life and Health Insurance Licenses within 60 days of employment

Knowledge & Experience

Basic understanding of group health and employee benefits including ancillary coverage such as life, disability, and dental insurance is preferred.
