The Role: Auto Supervisor

Reports to the Branch Manager and is responsible for developing and supervising a team of 14+ employees in the auto department. The Auto department consists of in-office auto, ASD staff and commercial auto specialists. The Auto Supervisor is responsible for scheduling the office and ASD staff to ensure all shifts are adequately covered. Accountable for department performance in compliance, profitability, as well as the overall satisfaction / engagement of both clients and employees. Coach and mentor to auto staff so each has the opportunity to develop and perform to his/her highest potential. Ensure compliance with ICBC rules and regulations through regular check-ins and inspection. Including batching, inventory management, forms completion, completing Policy Centre transactions and training completion.

Provide guidance and input to the Branch Manager regarding performance issues of the auto team. Ensure consistent and effective application of all corporate policies and procedures as they apply to the business or to the employees. The Auto Supervisor leads by example, is a positive role model and provides a professional, positive work environment that attracts, retains and motivates talent.


  • Ability to work collaboratively with direct reports, colleagues and front line talent to create a results driven and team oriented environment

  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of individuals (internal and external)

  • Passion and firm understanding of BC Auto Insurance

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in BC Auto

  • Level 2 General Insurance License

Department General Management

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Education: Some college (no degree)
