About the Position

The Accounts Payable Specialist position reports directly to the Accounts Payables Supervisor and functions as part of a team. Key responsibilities include processing supplier invoices and check requests on a daily basis in the ERP system in an accurate and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with branch staff and managers to ensure proper processing and approvals on supplier invoices

  • Update Oracle invoices waiting to be processed to enable validation and routing for approval

  • Identify gaps in supplier set up and report back to AP Sr. Specialist with required changes

  • Contribute to a cooperative team environment in which cross functions are assumed as necessary in order to meet department deadlines and goals

  • Provide direct support to the Accounts Payables Supervisor as required

Required Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college accounting courses preferred

  • At least 1 year of experience in the accounting field

  • Experience in a shared services accounting environment preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Basic Word and Excel skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines

  • High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment

  • Must have some flexibility of work hours and have ability to potentially put in extra hours during peak times
