The Sr. Manager Technology Business Partner is an experienced and motivated IT professional who is ready provide leadership and direction on HUB International's Business Partner Management team. How do we launch new products more quickly? How do we ensure IT delivers the best possible end-user experience?
Reporting to Director, Technology Business Partner, this role represents the voice of the business partner within IT. They are accountable for delivering the best possible IT experience to the business through ensuring day-to-day IT operational excellence. In support of aligning capabilities with long term business objectives, the Sr. Manager TBP will collaborate with other technology leaders to develop solution roadmaps. Will prioritize and drive investment decisions, shape incoming demand, and collaborate with the PMO on a portfolio management approach. Strong EQ is a must. Success in this role is 100% dependent on ability to develop trust through relationship-building, both with senior business executives as well as with IT leaders and their teams. Job Description / Duties
Leadership / Relationship Management
Be the voice of the business partners. Ensure the business’s experience with IT is excellent
Establish strong relationships and high level of trust with key leaders in the business units
Grow strong relationships with IT colleagues; know how to navigate the IT organization, be able to inspire support and good business partnership throughout all levels IT
Help drive HUB's transformation to a culture of long-term business capability growth
Support Business Partner Management leadership in developing and implementing the BP team objectives and strategy; own and drive execution
Business Capability Realization
Collaborate with business leaders to identify business capability needs
Participate in IT strategy creation; align enterprise and Business Unit strategies
Work with Architects to develop solution investment roadmap
Plan and execute IT investment planning in a way that connects business needs to business objectives and strategy
Continually learn the business; understand and be able to articulate business strategies, objectives and priorities
Portfolio Management / Governance
Collaborating with Business Unit executives and other leaders, develop budget and priorities for annual IT investment portfolios
Shape ongoing business demand to ensure alignment with overall business needs framework and BU strategy
Facilitate recurring prioritization discussions; drive enterprise to the right IT investment decisions; continually re-visit priorities and investment trade-offs
Coordinate resources from across the PMO, Business Analysis, and Architecture to analyze proposed initiatives
Own and drive business cases, collaborating with business stakeholders, PMO, and IT Delivery colleagues; define scope, ROI, risks, staffing requirements, and financial needs
Collaborate closely with the PMO Governance to constantly improve the Business Case intake and management process
Delivery
Own and manage portfolio of IT-enabled business projects, with support from the PMO
Hold project managers and other implementation resources accountable for successful delivery of business outcomes
Participate in project and program steering committees
Be the voice of the Business Partner ; represent business interests on projects
Reporting and Tracking Continuous Improvement
Assess maturity of Business Partnership with BU's; collaborate with BU leadership to set tangible improvement goals; track quarterly progress and report periodic updates to BU
Show full cost transparency to business; enable business leaders to understand the value they receive for the budget they spend on IT services
Communicate closely with VP IT Infrastructure & Operations to ensure day to day services are delivered to business units at expected, according to SLA's
Build out and deliver portfolio dashboards IT health scorecards for the BU's
Required Qualifications
7+ years of IT leadership / management experience
3+ years as a Business Partner, BRM, Program Manager, Portfolio Manager (or similar)
Track record of developing and managing trusting relationship with executives and other leaders
Demonstrated proficiency in insurance or insurance brokerage – Property and Casualty; Employee Benefits; and/or Retirement and Private Wealth.
Excellent at presentation and persuasion; know how to adjust message for the audience
Deeply experienced at writing and presenting business cases within formal governance structure
Experience delivering highly complex IT programs and projects
Passionate about delivering business value to business partners and end users
Customer centric mindset that anticipates business needs and responds positively to feedback
Ability to lead and motivate others; demonstrating empathy and knowledge of personality types
Proficient at driving transformational change in large organization with varied stakeholders
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project, Visio, and SharePoint
Other Helpful Qualifications
Digital Product Management / Ownership
Have led or made significant contributions to a digital transformation program
M&A integration experience
Business Analysis and Business Architecture experience
Education:
4-year degree required in related field
MS or MBA a plus
Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
