We are looking for a Sales Engineer, reporting to our Sales Engineering Lead, to engage with our Transactional Lines business through its exciting next phase of growth. This role will be charged with Strategic Partners support and strong partnership with Business Development Representatives, Customer Success Managers, Product Owners, Software Developers, Solutions Engineers, Architects, Call Center Operations, QA Engineers, Product Designers, IT, Security and Infrastructure, internal Business Partner Management and PMO functions. They will bring expertise in hands-on leading a high performing partner supporting team and a track record of success in supporting products that our customers love. This role will be empowered to drive personal and small commercial product growth by supporting a 21st century digital brokerage application platform, with a passionate focus on providing protective solutions for both consumers and small business owners.
Core Responsibilities:
Translate business requirements into technical requirements and implementation details
Support the pre-sales process for Hub’s strategic partner framework
Integration with third-party systems to enable use cases that power business solutions
Work closely with product and developers to design integrations with strategic partner systems:
Design complex systems that are extensible, easy to understand, and self-maintaining
Advise clients on best technical practices and architectural designs for integrating with Hub’s REST APIs
Provide efficient and accurate support to clients for integrating with Hub’s strategic partner framework
Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks (technical, people and timelines) at multiple levels
Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
Explore new technical innovations in the application development to further improve performance and modularity
Lead engagements that help to understand current state of strategic partner technical infrastructure, build processes, security needs, etc.
Work in a collaborative manner with strategic partner technical teams to define technical approaches to implementing designed solutions, including new product architecture, data flows and integration strategies, build processes, etc.
Implement and improve technical documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, a related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience with CX journey mapping
Strong computer science fundaments in data structures, algorithms, automated testing, object-oriented programming, performance complexity, and implications of computer architecture on software performance.
Overall understanding of integrations, data, and systems
Experience with planning and forecasting work and projects
Ability to work with multiple business partners to build strong relationships
Ability to explain technical issues in a way that non-technical people may understand
Ability to work independently and within a team environment and show initiative to take on responsibilities
Decision making, research, and analytical leadership and problem-solving skills
Time management with the ability to organize, assess, and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands
Experience working in an Agile scrum team
Version control and git workflows
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Able to work harmoniously and effectively with others
Ability to adapt to quickly changing business conditions.
Willingness to grow and share his/her knowledge with others on the team.
Good understanding of SDLC; development and testing methodologies
Experienced in cross-browser compatibility, accessibility, and web standards.
This position reports into Chicago and can be based anywhere in the U.S.
Nice to Have:
Experience with web application development
Experience with server-side application development
Experience programming with Python, C/C++, Java, Go, or similar programming language
Experience with building full stack applications

Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado: The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $130,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
