Hub International Enterprise Architect in Chicago, Illinois
The Enterprise Architect contributes to and guides the implementation of the Enterprise Architecture program in the Architecture & Design team, part of the CTO Office. This person will play an integral role in guiding multiple strategic efforts while contributing to the development of roadmaps for HUB's Enterprise Architecture strategy. The person in this role will partner with multiple areas across the HUB businesses and in conjunction with IT and business colleagues. As a trusted advisor and thought leader, this person will be assessing project architectures’ fit to the Enterprise Architecture strategy and ensuring alignment with the HUB Technology Strategy and industry best practices. This person will also contribute to enterprise application rationalization and support the building of HUB's holistic Enterprise Architecture program.
Steward the long-term, strategic Enterprise Architecture program for multiple business areas and IT systems
Contribute to the detailed views of the application landscape and ascertain lifecycle shifts and strategic opportunities
Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business directions into potential technological solutions
Assess existing current IT application environments and suggest future-state architectures
Contribute to the design of reference architectures
Partner with solution architects to provide scalable and adaptable architectural solutions and thinking within EA guidelines
Contribute to and support policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent technology framework is applied across the company
Promote the use of a shared infrastructure and business application roadmaps to reduce costs and improve information flows
Actively participates in the architecture review board to shape project proposals for architectural fit
Contribute to the continued shaping of roadmaps to align IT priorities with business partner needs
Ability to "think big" and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refreshes and transformation
Ability to support a shifting business culture and technology landscape in a dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level
Strong project management and organization skills
Demonstrated ability to consult across varying IT and business stakeholders
Comfortable with assessing and recommending new technologies
Knowledge of architectural design frameworks, integration frameworks, and patterns
Familiarity with and strength in at least two core architecture domains
