Employee Benefit Marketing Specialist
We are looking for a self-starting individual with strong experience in Business to Business (B2B) marketing to develop and execute various marketing strategies. The Employee Benefits Marketing Specialist will be responsible for helping us grow brand awareness, maintain our national leads program to deliver high-quality leads, and support pipeline acceleration activities to further generate revenue.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be results-driven, and have superior attention to detail. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Employee Benefits Marketing Specialist will support, develop and execute lead generation and product marketing programs at the national level. This is a great position to learn and grow with the company, requiring a unique combination of micro and macro planning.
This position is located in Chicago or the Chicagoland area and will have the flexibility for a Hybrid/Remote work as needed.
Work with Marketing Director to support go-to-market plans with key business stakeholders. These plans will cover all key areas of marketing including growing brand awareness, generating leads, driving customer success and retention. Review initiatives and plans with business leads on a regular basis, and under the direction of Marketing Director, adjust plans accordingly.
Drive content marketing and thought leadership project management to generate engagement among potential buyers and convert them to sales qualified leads. Ensure consistent, high quality customer experience via email, webinar, e-newsletter, and other channels.
Project-manage the development of high impact thought leadership assets including blogs, case studies, videos and e-books. Work closely with counterparts on the go-to-market team, corporate communications, digital marketing and field marketing to identify new and compelling formats for thought leadership. Works closely with counterparts on sales and risk management teams to ensure the creation of impactful and relevant content.
Develop specialization in employee benefits in order to understand customer purchasing behavior and industry hot topics.
Follow up with sales on opportunities and leads generated through marketing events and the qualification process from lead generation activities.
Support lead nurture and lead re-engagement programs.
Keep a pulse on new and creative opportunities to drive lead generation from national campaigns.
Manage schedule and deliverables of assigned campaigns and coordinate with key functions within marketing and sales.
Working with the email marketing team, develop, test, and deploy email sends from marketing automation system.
Review subscription lists for email marketing and manage targeted invitation lists and automation campaigns with email marketing team.
Track all marketing events and campaigns in CRM system and report on key success metrics weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually (email performance, campaign performance, revenue tracking and pipeline tracking)
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related area.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate or agency environment with involvement in developing and executing omni-channel B2B go-to-market strategies with quantifiable KPIs.
Proven project management skills, and an ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with overlapping timelines and input from various stakeholders.
Demonstrated success in interacting with senior management on the development of marketing strategies that impact sales and prospecting opportunities.
Basic proofreading and copywriting skills.
Strong attention to detail and keen focus on quality.
Self-motivated “go-getter” with a positive attitude who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can react to changing priorities.
Learns quickly and efficiently and can work both independently and as part of a team.
Understanding and ability to leverage CRM and marketing automation tools (Microsoft CRM & ActOn)
Proficient with Microsoft Office with knowledge of Excel
Working knowledge of virtual event platforms (GoToWebinar, Zoom, etc)
Required Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience
Required Travel: Negligible
Required Education: High school or equivalent
