Hub International Early Career Program Manager in Chicago, Illinois

Do you love the idea of creating something from scratch? Are you passionate about solving problems? We are building! The Early Career Program Manager is a new role at HUB, that will design and build tailored early career programs that scale across the HUB footprint. These programs are a key part of our strategy to attract and develop top entry-level talent. You will work with HUB executives, HR partners, and subject matter experts within the business to build a best-in-class program that introduces entry level talent to the essential skills and knowledge needed for a career in the insurance brokerage industry, and builds a community that will last beyond the program. You will also iterate and improve existing onboarding materials and processes to drive a high-quality new employee experience for HUB early career talent.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of achievement leading talent development programs for Early Career talent with measurable results. You must have experience driving meaningful action, be data- and detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. You must have experience managing multiple concurrent projects and driving them to successful completion, with a track record for operating effectively in ambiguity. These programs will need to scale across North America, requiring a program manager who is highly collaborative and has a track-record of influencing without authority. Strong self-awareness, collaboration with others, and a passion for development is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership for the design and execution (and scaling) of HUB’s early career ecosystem; this includes managing stake holder expectations and involvement throughout the process design and implementation

  • Develop partnerships with key vendor partners to develop and deliver key content to develop a best-in-class learning experience

  • Lead the design and delivery of content and experiences to create an early career ecosystem that ensures our early career programs create a unique and exciting experience that best positions HUB as a great place to grow a meaningful career in the insurance industry

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, our VP or Diversity, Inclusion and Communities, and Business Unit stakeholders to understand HUBs Early Career Ecosystem, including our Campus Recruiting Strategy, New Graduate hiring forecast/priorities and drive execution based on plan

  • Track the development of Early Career program participants; report out to key stakeholders on progress with the use of easy to understand dashboards and metrics.

  • Drive continuous improvement in the Early Career programs to ensure they are delivering on the ROI for the company and providing employees with best in class development opportunities

  • Work closely with Rotational Program stakeholders on the execution of activities (e.g. identification of rotational placements/assignments, learning events, program experiences, etc.) and participant engagement, ensuring a quality experience

  • Regularly review program experiences/content and partner with program stakeholders and subject matter experts to improve program offerings in line with development needs of early career talent.

  • Partner with local business leaders to build a consistent program experience. This includes developing a consistent approach to the hiring, development and management of early career talent.

  • Maintain a strong level of knowledge on industry trends which will allow for continuous improvement across the program.

  • Establish a coaching relationship with early career program participants, regularly collecting performance feedback and acting as a liaison between them and the business to create a positive experience for all parties

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree programs in related discipline &/or equivalent experience with managing early career talent in the insurance industry

  • 3 years of relevant project/program management experience; preferably in the talent development space; previous experience managing university relationship development is a plus.

  • Experience weaving a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (DEI) lens into talent programs is a plus

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders

  • Strong change management agility

  • Experience managing project timelines and budgets effectively

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities particularly during peak periods of high volume

  • Strong attention to detail; process oriented

  • Ability to engage, inspire, and influence at various levels in the organization

  • Proven experience designing and delivering relevant, effective training programs to targeted audiences; insurance industry experience is a plus

  • Act as an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive, results-driven work environment

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influence and customer service skills

  • Ability to travel for program delivery for key program events
