Job Description

In this role, you will work with HUB’s digital platform; designing, developing, and integrating them at every stage of its life cycle. Assisting in Information Technology platform engineering tasks.

Objectives of this Role

  • Identify potential technical issues and engineer possible solutions

  • Engage with management regularly with reports on project status, activities, and achievements

  • Participate in “Technical Archeology” (Platform and System Decomposition), in respect to digital platform needs for integration to legacy systems and services.

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of digital infrastructure frameworks (Cloud) that are scalable, consistent, repeatable, and supportable.

  • Assist in or independently create robust, scalable, and high-quality automation solutions for infrastructure defined software development; mentor other less experienced automation engineers

  • Develop solutions by understanding and studying systems flows, data usage and work processes

  • Contribute to the expansion, growth, and maturity of Enterprise Architecture.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Communicate with stakeholders to assist in the identification of business, technical, and operational requirements.

  • Conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and assist in establish preventive measures

  • Carry out debugging, troubleshooting, modifications, and unit testing of custom solutions built on HUB's digital platform

  • Assist and conduct application stack and systems decomposition research and engineering tasks.

  • Assist in configuration, tuning, and testing of tooling sets employed

  • Be responsible for analysis and recommendation of upgrades, design(s), changes, implementation specific to the support and scaling of HUB’s digital platform.

  • Review technical specifications from clients and vendors to confirm adequacy, accuracy and functionality of proposed solutions

  • Define benchmarks for tracking and measuring performance metrics

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or applicable experience.

  • 7+ Years of experience with programming languages (Powershell, python, shell scripting)

  • Extensive experience with: TCP/IP, DNS, CDN, HTTP, WAF, OAuth, SAML

  • 3+ years of experience with AWS infrastructure as a service

  • 3+ years of experience with Azure infrastructure and O365 services and technology

  • 5+ years of experience with cloud service, infrastructure orchestration and automation tooling (OMS, AppInsights, DynaTrace, Splunk, Azure Runbooks, TerraForm, Azure Dev/OPS, etc)

  • Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills

  • Experience in project management, systems design and integration.

  • Expertise in analyzing and documenting large-scale distributed systems

  • Desire to continuously develop your skills and knowledge

  • An ability to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and efficiently

  • Thorough knowledge of layered systems architectures and layered solutions and designs

Although hybrid Chicago is preferred, this role may consider remote candidates.
