The Opportunity:
The Analytical Lead, Employee Benefits holds a pivotal position, reporting to the local Manager while contributing to the workflow of the National Analytics Team . The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to delivering top-tier, client-ready work. They will continually utilize their expertise in the group benefits industry to seek and gain a deeper understanding of our organization and the clients we support. This individual will have the responsibility of providing analytical and problem-solving support to consultants and fellow team members.
At HUB, our clientele spans a diverse spectrum of industries, and the National Analytics Team plays an important role in the client management journey. We entrust them with the vital task of assisting our local consulting team in data acquisition, conducting intricate financial analyses, and meticulously reviewing documentation pertaining to our clients' life, disability, extended health, and dental care programs.
A day in the life:
Offering robust analytical and technical support to clients of various scales.
Demonstrating a profound expertise as a subject matter expert in group benefits, providing invaluable insights and guidance to the team and clients.
Producing client-facing presentations, including renewals and experience reports, in strict adherence to prescribed reporting schedules and templates.
Conducting peer reviews and delivering constructive feedback on team members' work.
Mentoring and providing training to incoming analysts joining the team.
Ensuring the maintenance and up-to-date organization of client files.
Delivering exceptional customer service to local consulting teams to assess and fulfill their employee benefits requirements.
Engaging with local consulting teams to discuss projects and results, as required.
Assisting with and contributing to special projects as deemed necessary.
Workflow management for the analytical team – Canadian Region.
Who you are:
Post-Secondary Education and/or related courses in group benefits (CEBS) or actuarial studies.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the group insurance industry, with prior consulting and/or insurance background.
LLQP an asset.
Solid knowledge of Canadian benefits industry including group benefits financial underwriting requirements for all types of employee benefits plans.
Previous experience managing people and workflows is an asset.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Strong time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
Strong team player and ability to work independently.
Ability to exercise initiative and follow up skills.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
