Hub International Manager, Training & Development in Burnaby, British Columbia

THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Manager, Training and Development (T&D), you’ll be responsible for supporting our employees in advancing their skills and knowledge to provide the best experience to our clients. This position assesses and responds to our organizational development needs to drive training initiatives across all lines of business.

As the successful incumbent, you’ll understand what current skills are needed to be the best, most valuable broker to our clients and continuously engage our employees in meaningful, relevant, and timely skill building.

You’ll collaborate and coordinate with external industry professionals, as well as internal line of business and functional subject matter experts (SMEs) to rollout existing training as well as build T&D programs from the ground up where required.

All T&D initiatives are in sync and support our vision to be the most trusted broker in the region that empowers and engages our people to make a difference in the lives of our clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Several resources are available within the larger HUB organization. A key responsibility of this role is to seek out and understand the resources available and recommend and implement relevant training at our regional level. Where resources don’t currently exist, you’ll create training from the ground up.

Training & Development

  • Assess, design, develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate training initiatives and programs to meet business objectives

  • Maintain current training initiatives and amend, evolve as needed

  • Identify and develop new training opportunities

  • Collaborate with internal, cross-regional HUBs on training initiatives

  • Evaluate and implement third-party training options when applicable

  • Key areas of focus:

  • Sales

  • Client Experience

  • Leadership Development

  • Leadership Excellence

  • Business Writing (101, 1:1)

  • Support on technical training

Oversight & Mentorship & Coaching

  • Strategize on training & development initiatives with line of business leaders

  • Support and provide general oversight on training initiatives in divisions with identified technical trainers

  • Oversee HUB Champions engagement and execution

  • Develop / maintain career path tools and resources and communicate to employees

  • Trimetrix coaching in collaboration with manager & HR Advisor

Employee Licensing & Continuing Education

  • Identify & coordinate in-house and external courses / opportunities

  • Provide guidance and support on courses that lead to licensing advancement & professional industry designations

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of training success

  • Proven experience in design and facilitation of training programs using diverse delivery methods

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills

  • Technical knowledge of e-learning authoring software and LMS utilization

  • Formal training in adult education or training (Degree or Certificate)

  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of audiences and individuals

  • Flexibility, adaptability, innovation, and creativity

Department Business Operations

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Travel: No Travel Required

Required Education: Associate degree (2-year degree)
