The Opportunity

Joining our industry-leading team, you'll contribute to achieving impactful results for our clients by providing innovative and effective solutions as a crucial member of our Surety team. As an Insurance Advisor in the Surety Division , you will provide exceptional administrative support for the VP, Surety. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a strong attention to detail to join our Burnaby Still Creek location in a Regular Full-Time position.

Our Burnaby Still Creek head office location is centrally located in the Willingdon Business Park near Brentwood Town Centre. This location is easily accessible by the Gilmore sky train station with many shops, restaurants and other amenities nearby.

The Responsibilities

  • Reviewing bids, preparing sunshine letters, surety bonds, and handling invoice preparation and saving via EPIC.

  • Assisting the VP Surety with workflow management.

  • Ensuring continuous excellence in servicing the existing book of business.

  • Collaborating with Producers and the broader HUB Team (Coastal and Canada West) to deliver top-notch construction advisory services and solutions.

  • Setting an example by educating colleagues on Surety matters for clients and prospects.

  • Identifying specific client and prospect needs and developing innovative and cost-effective solutions.

  • Reviewing and revising Surety facilities as directed by the VP Surety.

  • Coordinating and providing oversight to the account team, establishing client service plans that prioritize account activities and profitability with a value-based approach.

  • Ensuring compliance with HUB standards for all procedures, internal client files, and correspondence.

  • Participating in industry-sponsored events and maximizing opportunities to engage with various industry committees.

  • Leading by example by emphasizing the importance of collaboration across all lines of business.

  • Undertaking other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

The Requirements

  • Exceptional attention to detail in document preparation.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Quick learning ability to understand and execute tasks using proprietary computer programs.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within a team environment with exceptional customer service skills.

  • Proven ability to organize personal workflow as well as the work flow of others.

  • Educational background in finance and/or accounting is advantageous.

  • CAIB and ACSB certifications upon successful onboarding and completion of the probation period.

Asset experience that will make you stand out:

  • Industry designation an asset (CIP, CAIB, CRM, General Insurance & Risk Management Diploma – BCIT)

  • EPIC, Policy Works, CSR24 and Certificate Exchange experience an asset

  • Accounting experience is an asset

The expected salary range for this position is $45,000 to $60,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
