The Opportunity

As the Associate Vice President, Learning and Development (L&D), you will work directly with the COO to develop the overall strategy and you’ll directly oversee, influence, create and develop L&D activities for the regional organization.

This position understands what current skills and competencies are needed to be the best, most valuable broker to our clients and continuously engages our employees in meaningful, relevant, and timely skill building.

This position works with industry, line of business and functional subject matter experts (SMEs) to build L&D programs from the ground up where required. You’ll also ensure we’ve fully engaging in Corporate Head Office training resources available at the regional, desk level.

The Responsibilities

  • General Training

  • Assess, design, develop, implement, facilitate, and evaluate training initiatives and programs to meet regional HUB objectives

  • Strategize and oversee training initiatives in divisions with identified trainers, provide additional support in divisions without this identification

  • Maintain current training initiatives and prioritize new opportunities

  • Evaluate third-party training options when applicable

  • Partner with HUB Corporate on global HUB training initiatives

  • Support and implement corporate training initiatives within the region

  • Sales Training

  • Understand HUB is a sales organization and determine the best sales training for different groups of employees based on job function

  • Understand, support, recommend, implement Corporate resources (Sales Force Development (SFD), Percipio, AMP, etc.) available to the regions

  • Coordinate sales training within our region working closely with the management team

  • Bring SFD concepts and benefits to other lines of business

  • Client Service Excellence Training

  • Client service excellence understanding & techniques

The Requirements

  • 4+ years managing the learning & development function of a mid-sized organization

  • 8 + years of training development & delivery success

  • Ability to think strategically, develop functional plans and execute on those plans

  • Proven experience in design and facilitation of training programs using diverse delivery methods

  • Technical knowledge of e-learning authoring software and LMS utilization

  • Formal training in adult education or training (Degree or Certificate)

  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of audiences and individuals

Asset Experience That Will Make You Stand Out

  • Insurance experience and/or designation preferred (CAIB, CIP, FCIP, CRM, etc.)
