Accounting Associate
This position reports directly to the Insurance Accounting Supervisor and functions as part of a team. The team is responsible for the Premium Payables and Broker commission payables process for the Property & Casualty, Benefits and Wholesale business in various Broker Management system(s), GL system(s) and any additionally acquired systems. Key responsibilities include ensuring premiums are remitted to the carriers according to carrier market terms and broker commissions are paid to external brokers timely and accurately in accordance with company policies.
What you’ll do:
Analyze incoming payments to correctly record items.
Identify and process statements to apply commissions correctly.
Prepare reconciliations in the Broker Management System in conjunction with invoices and/or statements received from markets in accordance with payment terms.
Prepare analysis of aged open payables on a periodic basis.
Analyze research and resolve exceptions.
Responsible for monitoring shared mailbox, sorting, categorizing, processing, verifying invoices and activity related to SPG business unit.
Monitor timely resolution of billing discrepancies in order to achieve a three-way match status on or before payment due date.
Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external partners.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1-year experience in accounting/finance/customer service fields preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High school diploma or equivalent required.

This position is Hybrid – 2 full days required in Brentwood, TN office.
