Hub International Claims Manager in Bothell, Washington

OVERVIEW

The Claims Manager will manage the Claims department day-to-day operations, make staffing decisions, report to Executive Leadership Team, HUB Legal team and Director of Quality Control on E and O issues, and coordinate with Regional and Corporate claims staff as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ALL DUTIES OF SENIOR CLAIMS REPRESENTATIVE

  • Monitor, supervise and train claims staff to ensure adherence to requirements and established procedure, methods and protocols

  • Conduct regular reviews and analysis of the effectiveness and efficiency of claims services. Communicate reviews to insured carriers, representatives and management as applicable

  • Review, analyze and monitor claim processing and activity with interested parties under the policy provisions, and as related to coverage, costs and specific insurance interest to ensure proper documentation and follow up

  • Verify invoices and follow up as appropriate and timely; with amounts payable per established agency procedures

  • On claims over 30 days without decision or proper follow up as noted form computer data reports, then identify, review and take action with communication to interested parties and management

  • Timely print out, review and distribute information and reports (changes, impacted claims, loss runs, etc)

  • Notify Executive Management of potential E and O situation. Research details and document details of activities leading to E and O

  • Internal correspondence on active claim and work assignment responded to and kept current with interested parties on a regular and consistent basis

  • Work directly with company and independent adjusters to ensure claims are processed quickly and correctly

  • Responsible for Large Loss Spreadsheet (LLSS) / Catastrophic notice to management

  • Work with HUB Legal, and Director of Quality Control on Regional E and O claims

  • Any other duties as appropriate and assigned by COO or HUB Corporate Claims Leaders

Licensing or certification Requirements

  • MUST hold current Property/Casualty License in resident state; includes maintaining by meeting all continuation education and other requirements

  • MUST hold current Claims adjuster license in states handling; includes maintaining by meeting all CE and other requirements

  • Must have AIC designation

work and education experience requirements:

  • 10+ years’ office experience

  • 8+ years insurance experience similar to essential job functions

  • High school diploma or equivalency; some college preferred

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Required Education: Bachelor's degree (4-year degree)
