The Role: Auto and Dealer Services Manager

Summary of Position:

As Auto and Dealer Services Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing and developing the auto teams in our busiest location in the Fraser Valley, as well as manage the dealer services operation. In this unique, hybrid role, you will lead a diverse group of Auto Insurance professionals focused on both personal and commercial auto, as well as Autoplan service at Dealerships, you lead, motivate and coach your team to create a memorable client experience and drive business results. Reporting to the Branch Manager, you will be accountable for compliance, increasing revenues, profitability, flow through, expense management and the overall satisfaction / engagement of both clients and employees. You will manage the relationship with key stakeholders in the community including dealerships. This role is the perfect challenge for you if you want to grow your leadership skills, build relationships, and be mentored by some of the top talent in the industry!


Auto Team Duties:

Help develop and lead the execution of an annual business plan to maintain and grow a book of business through:

  • New business generation

  • Business retention

  • Cross-selling private auto

  • Lead generation

  • Inspire and coach your team to deliver a memorable client experience and uphold service standards.

  • Manage operational aspects of the auto team including corporate branding, office aesthetics, cleanliness; support office administration with respect to batching, inventory management, dealer billing AR’s.

  • Schedule the Auto agents, ensuring shifts are adequately covered. Adjust the schedule as needed to adapt to changes required due to illness, staffing changes, business needs, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with ICBC rules and regulations through regular check-ins and inspection including batching, inventory management, forms completion, completing Policy Centre transactions and training completion.

  • Ensure high employee engagement through recruiting, talent management, development, and career planning.

  • Provide clear, concise and consistent communication to the team (branch specific, corporate communications, etc.)

  • Ensure monthly office meetings, weekly department mini meets and monthly staff one on ones are scheduled and executed.

  • Coach and mentor team leads and auto staff, so each has the opportunity to develop and perform to his/her highest potential.

  • Ensure strong dealer relationships and issues are treated with a high sense of urgency so they can be resolved quickly and amicably.

  • Processing and monitoring daily/weekly/monthly renewal lists.

  • Participate in both the business and industry communities to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the branch and organization.

  • Providing assistance to the walk-in Auto customers as required.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Dealer Services Duties:

  • Foster, maintain, and grow working relationships with dealership partners.

  • Identify new ways to grow business

  • Understand and administer the compliance of Autoplan Service at Dealerships (ASD) agreement.

  • Lead the ASD team to provide high levels of service to dealership partners and their customers.

  • Develop, monitor and inspect clear expectations, team goals and objectives and share results to help grow the team and ASD business.

  • Dispatch dealer calls to the ASD team.


  • Thrives in a team orientated and dynamic environment.

  • Strong organizational skills allowing you to juggle multiple competing priorities on a daily basis.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to cultivate strong and productive interpersonal relationships both internally with your staff and externally with your clients.


  • Minimum 5 years insurance brokerage experience

  • Previous management experience leading a department or branch

  • Level 2 license

  • Industry designation (CAIB, CIP, FCIP, CRM)
